Camille Stewart Gloster is a strategist, attorney and executive whose crosscutting perspective on complex technology, cyber, and national security, and foreign policy issues has landed her in significant roles at leading government and private sector companies including the White House, Department of Homeland Security, Google, and Deloitte. Camille builds global cybersecurity, privacy, emerging technology (e.g., A.I.) and election security/integrity programs in complex environments for large companies and government agencies.

Biography

Camille Stewart Gloster is a distinguished strategist, attorney, and executive renowned for her comprehensive expertise in technology, cybersecurity, national security, and foreign policy. Her career encompasses pivotal roles across government and private sectors, including the White House, Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Google, and Deloitte. Camille is the CEO and Principal of CAS Strategies, LLC, is working to build a safer digital future through strategic initiatives to shape policymaking and innovation and providing clients with bespoke advice on emerging technology and cybersecurity.

As the inaugural Deputy National Cyber Director for Technology & Ecosystem Security at the White House (2022-2024), Camille provided counsel to the President and spearheaded national strategies on technology security, supply chain integrity, data protection, emerging technologies, and cyber workforce development. She was instrumental in formulating and executing the 2023 National Cyber Workforce and Education Strategy, the 2023 National Cybersecurity Strategy, the 2023 AI Executive Order, the 2024 Data Security Executive Order, and the 2023 U.S. National Standards Strategy for Critical & Emerging Technology. Additionally, she served on the White House AI Council and led the Open Source Software Security Initiative.

Prior to her tenure at the White House, Camille was Google's Global Head of Product Security Strategy, where she set enterprise security and privacy priorities to improve risk maturity across all areas of trust for Alphabet's business units. She also led the Security Policy and Election Integrity efforts for Google Play and Android, designing and implementing global election integrity programs and policies to counter emerging threats on the platform.

At DHS, she served as Senior Policy Advisor for Cyber, Infrastructure & Resilience, focusing on cyber diplomacy, technology policy, privacy, and technical areas such as encryption and Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT). Her career also includes leadership roles in cybersecurity and technology on Capitol Hill, at Deloitte, and at Cyveillance (now ZeroFOX), an open-source threat intelligence firm.

Beyond her professional roles, Camille is a life member of the Council on Foreign Relations, Strategic Advisor for Girl Security, and has served on various corporate and nonprofit boards. She has been a cybersecurity fellow at esteemed institutions, including the Harvard Belfer Center, New America, Atlantic Council, and the Foundation for Defense of Democracies. Camille’s entrepreneurial spirit extends to her work as a co-founder of the #ShareTheMicInCyber movement, the Silicon Valley Chapter of Women in Cybersecurity (WiCYS), and the #NextGenNatSec initiative, all aimed at fostering a skilled and diverse workforce in the cyber and national security sectors.

A recognized leader in her field, Camille has earned numerous accolades, including being named to Business Insider’s AI 100, the SANS Difference Maker Award, Root100 Honoree, Microsoft Security Changemaker of the Year, and CyberScoop50 Cyber Industry Leadership Honoree. 

An accomplished author, Camille has produced technical research and publications, including a groundbreaking paper and subsequent training for federal judges on the exfiltration of national security-related technology and intellectual property through the courts. She recently authored a paper outlining a framework to support human-centered security programs.

Camille is also a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She holds a Bachelor of Science from Miami University, a Juris Doctor from American University Washington College of Law, and a Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) certificate from Carnegie Mellon University. She is certified as a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and Project Management Professional (PMP).
